15 new Centres of Vocational Excellence are starting their activities in March 2024. Over their 4 years duration, they will perform ambitious and innovative activities generating a long-term impact in the world of vocational education and training.

On 21 March, EACEA organises a kick off meeting with the new Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs). They aim at vocational, education and training excellence in a wide range of sectors having in common a high growth and innovation potential.

While some sectors like hydrogen technologies, offshore energy, climate smart agriculture, construction, and tourism are already covered by the existing Centres, others such as the beekeeping industry, printed, flexible and organic electronics (PFOE), correctional justice system, battery sector and data centre education are newly included. They align with high policy relevance and prioritise the twin transition (green and digital) of their activities. Some projects also address societal issues in a remarkable way, such as the integration of refugees and migrants, or the training of practitioners working on the reintegration of prisoners.
