Welcome the new #BeActive EU Sport Awards

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new initiative under the Erasmus+ Programme: the #BeActive EU Sport Awards! This prestigious competition aims to celebrate and reward outstanding initiatives that have successfully promoted sport and physical activity across Europe.

Does this type of action sound familiar? In fact, #BeActive EU Sport Awards build on the success of two other initiatives, the Be Active and Be Inclusive awards, now enriched by broader categories and greater funding. This new competition seeks - once a year - to showcase best-practice initiatives and present inspiring individuals to the European sport fans.

Categories and prize funding

For this first edition, the awards celebrate achievements across five categories:

1. Physical activity: this award celebrates sport activities that significantly contributed to promote physical activity and that inspired people of all ages to integrate movement into their daily lives, fostering a more active and healthier society.

2. Inclusion: this award honours activities that successfully used sport as a powerful tool to promote social inclusion, gender equality, diversity and unity and that break down barriers, empower and include underrepresented groups.

3. Volunteering: this award recognises sport activities implemented by organisations and/or individuals that have made outstanding contributions to sports through volunteer work, including the positive impact of volunteers in fostering community engagement.

4. Across generations: this award is dedicated to sport activities working across generations and contributing to strengthen communities, providing easier access to sport and physical activities for all generations and keeping in mind interests of future generations.

5. Peace: this award applauds activities that successfully used sport as a powerful tool to promote peace and that have made significant contributions in fostering dialogue, tolerance, and collaboration beyond divisions.

With a significant total budget of EUR 125,000, the awards will recognize one winner and two finalists in each category. The winner will receive EUR 15,000, while each finalist will be awarded EUR 5,000. Let your project be the inspiration Europe needs!
