New Erasmus+ Sport publication - The role of sport in education: enhancing skills development and dual careers perspectives

The report on the latest Erasmus+ Sport cluster meeting is now available.

This report compiles the results of the Erasmus+ Cluster Meeting on “The role of sport in education: enhancing skills development and dual careers perspectives” gathering 120 participants including project leaders, policy makers and high-level speakers on 4-5 December 2019.

This final report follows the meeting agenda, devoted to three policy sessions and three workshops on dual careers of athletes, skills development through sport, and coaches’ role, qualification and recognition.

During the cluster meeting leaders of 60 collaborative partnership projects met representatives of the European Commission, Member States (Working Party on Sport of the Finnish and Croatian EU Presidencies), European Parliament and other main Sport stakeholders. In the policy sessions the panelists shared their experience, outlined policy-relevant results, in particular good practices, progress made in the implementation of the respective EU Guidelines, as well as areas for improvement. In second day, the participants went deeper into these aspects in the workshops on dual careers, coach education and skills development.

The cluster meeting and presented fruitful ground for future initiatives for the participants and other interested stakeholders. According to all participants, this annual thematic meeting became a relevant platform to create synergies and feed the policy work, contribute to reflections in a specific priority area.
