MOTERIS: Protecting the Civic Space of Women and Girls

MOTERIS strengthens the resilience, monitoring, and advocacy capacities of at least 28 civil society actors in the women’s rights sector across 14 EU Member States. The project targets women’s rights organisations (WROs) and women human rights defenders (WHRDs), especially in Central, Eastern, and Baltic EU states.

MOTERIS develops a monitoring framework to track shrinking civic spaces, conducts research, and provides tailored training. It fosters collaboration across WRO and WHRD networks to co-design advocacy initiatives, ensuring intersectional vulnerabilities are addressed and shared strategies across regions are implemented. The project engages both local and European networks to maximise impact.
