BIRDS in BG strengthens civil society in Bulgaria by supporting small and under-resourced grassroots civil society organisations that work on gender equality, the rights of vulnerable groups, and the rule of law. The project combines capacity-building activities with financial support for local and national organisations.Through training, mentoring, networking, and a community of practice, BIRDS in BG equips up to two hundred organisations with the skills and resources they need. Its regranting component provides four million euros to more than ninety-two organisations, benefitting 300 000 people directly and approximately two million indirectly.
