Offshore renewable energy holds vast potential, yet it represents a major technological challenge. The harsh conditions of the marine environment demand advanced, specific knowledge across various scientific fields, creating an industry demand for specifically trained professionals. Successfully running since 2017, the Master in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment (REM++) is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programme aiming to form specialists with the required skills to accomplish this challenge. Implemented by four prestigious universities across Spain, Italy, Ireland, and France, and coordinated by the University of the Basque Country, the programme provides students with comprehensive skills such as the assessment, analysis, simulation, and exploitation of all available energy in the marine environment. The consortium also includes a vast network of more than 60 associated partners from industry, academia, and research, offering a strong link to the world of work. The current edition of REM will be equipping 100 graduates with cutting-edge skills, supporting the EU's policy on sustainable prosperity and competitiveness, fostering a greener future and enhancing global cooperation in energy innovation.Learn more about the projectProgramme: Erasmus+ (Erasmus Mundus Joint Master)Back to the 20 years page to discover other project stories
