EURO-fLy your classroom

The Jean Monnet - Learning EU "EURO-Fly" project aimed to embed European literacy into the daily educational experience of vocational training students. The project was integrated into a Greek school’s curriculum, particularly within three key subjects: Greek Language, Political Education, and the Creative Activity Zone. The courses provide a solid foundation to start students’ European literacy in secondary education and offer great opportunities for differentiated teaching and innovative actions and pedagogical practices.

The project pursued the enhancement of students’ knowledge and understanding of three areas: the historical milestones of European integration and, the role of its institutions, the concept of European identity, including the fundamental values, and contemporary EU priorities such as the European Green Deal. Over a three-year period, the project implemented more than 240 hours of structured teaching, combining classroom-based learning with practical and participatory activities, reaching more than 600 pupils. These included collaborations with environmental organisations, the establishment of information kiosks on school premises, organisation of thematic seminars for both students and teachers, and targeted awareness-raising campaigns on issues of citizenship, rights, and equality.
